This portfolio comprises of goals I am working towards during my university education and evidence in relation to each of the 7 Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) Professional Standards for Teachers. This evidence has been collected during my pre-service teaching, university subjects, various courses and activities. These samples will serve as a starting point for a rich and diverse representation of my involvement and commitment to become an exemplary teacher.
I have also included certificates to show my involvement in professional development that enhances my learning and understanding of a variety of teaching strategies relating to Autism Spectrum disorders, Critical and Creative thinking and Indigenous education strategies.
I am currently in my fourth year of Bachelor of Education (K-12) studies at Charles Sturt University, Bathurst, majoring in English. I love to see the joy on learners' faces when they discover new things and strive to instill a love of learning and discovery with all students I come into contact with. I have a strong interest in children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder and hope to involve strategies I have learned in this area. I have a son on the Autism Spectrum and have seen the positive impacts an educated and understanding teacher can provide.

Teaching Philosophy
I aim to provide students with a safe and comfortable environment where they feel they can be free to express opinions, ideas and emotions. I strive to deliver content based on the most up to date knowledge, in a way that will cater to a diverse range of learning styles. I have a strong belief in inclusive education and am building on my working knowledge of strategies to enable a successful balance within the classroom, when catering for those with additional needs. I believe people are by nature inquisitive, seeking to learn new things about the past, present and future possibilities. A creative element is imperative to develop higher order thinking and reasoning, whilst also giving a sense of ownership to the content. By ensuring all children are given the opportunities to learn, think and collaborate will encourage the understanding of content delivered.
